I've wanted to get my nose pierced for years. Years! I almost did it this fall- I called my brother he said just do it, his only advice was to not call mom, which of course, I did. Needless to say, my nose remained sans piercing.I knew I'd be living alone this summer, so I figured this would be my "chance", but never got around to it. However, this past week, the phrase "asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission" kept coming up. Many times. The last straw was on Friday morning after seeing Emma's post on things she would tell her 10 year old self. I read that post at 9am, and by 3pm, I had a new little addition to my face.
My first step was to post it on facebook so Emma could see it. I knew this was risky, because I'm facebook friends with my aunt who's up in Maine visiting with my parents. I texted my mom normally, she said she saw my aunt, and didn't mention anything out of the ordinary.
A little before 9, I knew I couldn't sleep with the "guilt", so I called my mom and said...
"Hey mom.... you know how I got an A in physics? Ialsogotmynosepierced. I'magoodkid, Idon'tdodrugs, Ican'tkeepasecret, andIgotmynosepierced. Phew!"
She already knew! My parents were going to wait to see if I tried to hide it from them when I went to visit them in Maine. When my aunt showed them the picture on her iPhone, the general response was that I'm an adult (yeah, sure...) and at least it's not a tattoo. I made it almost 6 hours before coming clean to my parents...

That's awesome, good for you! I still have the scar from my rebellious belly button piercing I got when I was 18.
